Many of us think that national cuisine of the USA is only hamburgers, pizza and fast food. It is not quite try. The country has become the mixing pot for many different cuisines, that’s why Americans have a rich variety of foods. Classic American cuisine is hearty, filling, and simple. Traditional American dishes are fried chicken, meatloaf, baked potato, corn, baked beans and apple pie. As for meat, main dishes are based on beef, pork and chicken with some seafood. Turkey is prepared for holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Apple pie is one of the most popular American classic desserts. Pecan and pumpkin pies are also served for occasions and holidays. Other kinds of sweets are a chocolate cake and ice cream. Beverages are the following: sodas (cola and citrus-based), juices (apple or orange), and beer. Wine is widely enjoyed but less so than in many other countries.
